Recession Information Technology
We have been working with local companies to optimize
their Information Technology posture and expenses in light of the
current recession. Our services include:
-
Reviewing Information Technology budgets to optimize
for reduced business revenues
-
Assisting with the capture of intellectual property
that could be lost in downsizing. Examples include capturing
email, spreadsheets and documents from computers of laid off
employees.
-
Evaluating third party agreements and vendors to
optimize services rendered in light of the economy.
Medicare Advantage & Medicare Part "D" Implementation
We recently assisted a managed healthcare organization
launch their new Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part "D" (prescription
drug) business line. Our activities include:
-
Being a key member of the Medicare application and bidding
process with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) of the Department
of Health and Human Services, resulting in the successful launch of a
Medicare Special Needs Plan with Part "D" Prescription Drug Coverage
for the seven county area in and around Milwaukee, WI.
-
Negotiating the professional and hospital claims processing
service agreement with a third party claims administrator,
-
Working with their Pharmacy Benefit Manager to implement the
Part "D" claims processing system,
-
Identifying necessary changes to the internal systems and
procedures to support the new business line,
-
Providing project leadership in key implementation areas.
Claims Processing Methodology Review
We recently helped a Medicaid provider
review their claims processing methodology. The project included:
-
Documentation of current services
-
Gap analysis of desired services
-
Identification and
evaluation of alternative TPA's (third party providers) and in-house options.
-
Assurance of compliance with HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley.
-
Implementation assistance.
IT Network Problem Resolution
We spent some time helping a small dental practice work out the
kinks in
their office network. This included getting their DSL line correctly configured,
implementing a gateway/router and firewall, provisioning for virtual private
networking
(VPN) so that the system could be accessed from home, and reconfiguring all of
the office workstations to work, and be protected from viruses and spyware, in the
new environment.
